AI Report Card Comments Generator for Teachers
Report card season. Mrs. Thompson teaches three classes, 84 students. Writing a personalised, meaningful comment for each one takes her an entire week of evenings. With the AI report card generator, she types a strength and a next step, clicks Generate, and gets draft comments to adapt for each student. She edits each one, adding her personal touch and the student's name.
The AI Report Card Comments Generator is one of the AI generators of OpenEduCat Tools.
This page fills in a draft from a template. Copy prompt gives you the prompt for any AI chat.
How it works
From your notes to comments you check and paste, in four steps.
Choose the level and subject
The teacher chooses the learners and the subject. There is no spreadsheet to prepare.
Add a strength and a next step
The teacher types one strength and one next step, without student names. A PE comment reads differently from a Mathematics comment, so the words you type shape the draft.
Generate the draft
Click Generate for three draft comments from the template. With Improve with AI on, your own AI key writes them from your notes instead.
Teacher reviews and edits each comment
The teacher copies each comment, adds the student's name and edits it in the report card. The teacher remains in control, the AI drafts, the teacher decides.
What makes these comments different
These comments start from what you type: the learners, the subject, a strength and a next step. The tool reads no grades, attendance or school records.
You add the name
The comments say "the student". Add the student's name when you paste each comment into the report card, so no name goes into the tool.
Subject and learners
Choose All subjects, Mathematics, English, Science, History and social studies or The arts. Choose learners from preschool to high school, special education, English language learners or gifted students.
- No student accounts.
- No ads.
- Data-processing agreement on request.
What this page does here

Questions teachers ask
Will every student get a unique comment or will they all sound the same?
The template gives three comments from the strength and next step you type, so edit them for each student. With Improve with AI on, the comments follow your notes more closely. Either way, read and change each one.
What data does the AI use to personalise each comment?
Only what you type: the learners, the subject, a strength and a next step. The tool reads no grades, attendance or school records.
What is SENCO mode?
This tool has no SENCO mode. SENCO stands for Special Educational Needs Coordinator. Choose Special education under Learners, then edit the comment yourself so that it names the real support in place, and check it with your coordinator.
Can teachers edit comments before they are published?
Yes. Copy or download the comments, then edit any part of the text or write your own. The teacher is always the final decision-maker. The AI is a drafting tool, not an automation system.
What character and word limits does the tool support?
The form has no limit setting. Edit each comment to fit the limit your report card system sets.
How does the tool handle students who have had a difficult term?
Type the next step in constructive words and the comment frames it that way. Teachers can always edit the comment to reflect their professional judgement about the appropriate framing for each family.
