Oversight and the audit log
See class summaries of the classes teachers assign to the school, and every view and admin action in the audit log.
Before the first report
- Open the Reports tab of the workspace.
- Read How oversight works here, tick I understand and will use this only for the school’s own purposes., then choose Continue to reports.
You read this once. Not now keeps reports closed until you come back.
What reports show
- One row for each class a teacher assigned to the school: the class, its teacher, attendance over the last 30 days, the average marks, the fees due this month and when you last looked.
- Summaries only. No row names a student, nothing exports student data, and no report card or receipt is made.
- A class the teacher takes back leaves the reports at once.
- Every time you open reports, each class you see is logged. The teacher sees who looked and when under Who viewed my records in My Class.
The audit log
- Open Settings, then Audit log.
- Filter by one member, by a kind (Viewed class summary, Exported, Changed role, Shared template or Rooms) and by dates.
- Choose Show more to read older entries.
- Export CSV downloads the filtered log, with no student names. The export is an entry in the log too.
Entries stay for the life of the workspace and are part of the workspace export.
When a teacher leaves
When you remove a teacher who had classes assigned, the remove dialog can ask OpenEduCat support about those classes. This needs a verified school email domain. Support releases class summaries of the assigned classes only, never a student’s own record.
When the trial ends
If the school chooses no seats, reports show the summaries as they were on the day the workspace became read-only, and opening them is not logged as a view.
