Type your words and clues, then print a crossword and its answer key.
Make a crossword
- Open the crossword puzzle maker from All tools and sign in with Google, Microsoft or a code we email you.
- Give the puzzle a title, then type one word and its clue per line, with a comma between them.
- Press Build puzzle. 8 to 15 words fit a 13 by 13 grid, and a list can hold 30 words.
- Choose A4 or Letter, then press Print with answer key or Download PDF: page 1 is the puzzle and the last page is the answer key.
When a word does not fit
- Words that cannot be placed are named above the preview, and the rest of the puzzle stays.
- Shorten or replace the word, or press Shuffle layout to try another layout.
- A word longer than the grid needs a larger grid: choose 15 by 15 or 20 by 20.
Good to know
- Paper style leaves unused cells as blank paper. Newspaper style fills them with solid black.
- Your word list is saved to your items and opens on every device you sign in on. Print or download the puzzle to keep it.
- Words in any script work; right-to-left scripts fill the grid from the right.
