MCQ generator

Type your questions and print shuffled sets with the answer key.

Make shuffled sets

  1. Open the MCQ generator from All tools and sign in with Google, Microsoft or a code we email you.
  2. Type a question, then each option on its own line. Put a star before the right option and a blank line before the next question.
  3. Choose how many sets, up to 4. Each set shuffles the questions and the options, and the key follows.
  4. Press Print or Download PDF: each set, then the answer key on the last page.

When a question cannot be used

  • A line under the list names the question by its number and says what it needs, and the other questions still print.
  • A question needs 2 to 6 options and one star.

Good to know

  • Every option moves, so avoid options that depend on their place, such as "All of the above".
  • Press Shuffle again for a new order. The questions you typed stay as they are.
  • You type the questions. To draft them in an AI chat, choose Copy a prompt. To draft them here with your own AI key, turn on Improve with AI.
  • Your questions stay on this device until you sign out. Print or download the sets to keep them.
